The Shadow of a Person Taking a Photo of a Sunset on a Lake

Meli Taking a Picture of the Sunset on Waskesiu Lake in Saskatchewan, Canada

Dear Readers,

I just wanted to share with you a little about myself so that you have some background information on what inspires my blog posts and this travel blog in general.

First and foremost, I have a huge passion for travel and a great thirst for knowledge and adventure. I love the outdoors and nature, especially hiking. I am fascinated by history, architecture, museums, and other cultures.

I am a Canadian woman that enjoys almost any type of sport, but especially dance, kickboxing, snowshoeing, and snowboarding. I like watching action sports, such as hockey, figure skating, American football, and European football, as well as extreme sports, such as BMX biking and motocross. I also have a great appreciation for the arts. This includes not only the performing arts, theater, and art galleries, but also poetry, literature, and all genres of music.

Additionally, I am also very much into fashion, shopping, and food. Sampling new cuisines, flavours, and drinks while travelling (and at home) is a must for me. I am always excited when I get to bring back newly discovered herbs, spices, and foods with me to cook as cooking is also one of my passions. Gourmet food is my favourite, as well as foods grilled on the barbeque, fruity drinks, dessert wines, ice-cream/frozen yogurt/gelato, and cheesecake.

I have a weakness for sunsets, star gazing, sandy beaches, and boats. Furthermore, I am a technology addict.

To sum it up, I love seeing new places, trying new things, and having new experiences. Not only has travel taught me a lot about the world, but also about myself. I hope to inspire others to do the same, both abroad and at home, since often people do not travel in their own “backyards.” Hence, the slogan of the blog is: “Discover, Taste, and Experience the World Around You.”

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy my blog! 🙂

Sincerely,

Meli
